JIH LLC initiated and promoted the AIHA Alarm Setting Process Framework that has been cited by others as a tool for “Fitness for Purpose” evaluations. The manner of gas, vapor and particulate sensor design, calibration and maintenance requires careful and formal consideration of the purpose behind a selection of the technology. Subsequently, it requires further analysis as to what data is logged, to whom and how quickly it is communicated, and how it is formally transmitted into a record.

JIH LLC has experience with these application decisions for both portable personal monitoring devices as well as installed fixed facility detectors. Industry segments include wastewater, surface mining and lead smelting and the suite of process generated hazards.
